Leni Yoro has revealed the effort he has made to improve in his first season in the Premier League, and revealed Ruben Amorim’s backroom staff are using a WhatsApp group to help the Red Devils’ defence.
The 19-year-old joined the Red Devils from Lille in the summer for £52million on a five-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.
Yoro’s signing is seen as a significant signing for United, with the club beating out rivals Real Madrid for the signature after injuries at the start of the season disrupted his appearances. Yoro has made 15 appearances for United since making his debut in December and has adapted to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย Yoro gave the former United star some insight into how he is improving as a defender.
One of the topics Ferdinand asked Yoro about was his preparation for matches and opposition in the Premier League.
“Studying the opposition is important, I think? Because I think it only makes you better, which is what I used to do when I was a player,” Ferdinand said.
“When I face a bunch of strikers every week, on a Thursday or Friday before a game, I say to the analyst, ‘Fill up my iPad with clips of the strikers I’m playing with. I want to see their best clips and their best moments, their goals, their assists, etc.’”
“Is that what you’re doing?”
Yoro responded by revealing that the United defender is in a WhatsApp group where they receive pre-match clips of the forwards from Amorim’s staff.
He also explained that he has hired a personal analyst to help him improve.
“Yes, yes, of course, it is important. We have a WhatsApp group,” Yoro said. “Every defender gets clips of the forwards, their movements, their runs. “
And on top of that, I also have my own analyst who sends me clips of the forwards to study.
“I have my own guy from Lille, I still work with him. [I’m] studying specific runs, like when the defenders are in possession, their lines to play long balls.
“Or even how to deal with crosses, first balls or second balls, all those things are very important.”
